Public Improvement District #7
The Fort Worth Public Improvement District (PID #7), established by the City of Fort Worth in 2000, and administered by FirstService Residential offers a complementary program of services including maintenance and landscaping, events, security enhancements, public space management, communications and planning.
Property owners within the defined area pay a special assessment above their regular property taxes for the coordinated program of services. The PID can provide a means to fund supplemental services and improvements to meet community needs which could not otherwise be constructed or provided using City services.
Chapter 372 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes the creation of PIDs by cities. The owners of the properties in the defined area have requested that the City form a PID through a submitted petition. The City accepted the petition and formed the District in September of 2000 by resolution. An advisory board consisting of residents provides input into the annual project selection and budgeting process.
PID 7’s daily operations are managed by FirstService Residential. Assessments for PID 7 are made through the owner’s tax bills with Tarrant County.
